Urban Development
The primary project being worked on in the area is the completion of a vast shopping center, connecting two existing shopping centers, which will be, upon completion, one of the largest such areas in California. This project is designed to create jobs as well as to make shopping easier to accomplish more close to home. This project is also synchronizing with metro lines and additional public transportation plans are in place. The centerpiece of this includes a new Costco. This project will feed into the increasingly problematic traffic problem as well.
City Planning
The city is designed primarily on a grid based system, however, neighborhoods tend to be less stringent. The city hinges on a few major streets and its proximity to the 101 freeway and other nearby areas. The city lacks room for future development in horizontal directions, however plans are in place for more skyscrapers in Warner Center, the valley’s economic hub.
