Landscaping
In West Hills, trees line residential streets in neighborhoods in a consistent and uniform manner. These trees provide some shade and a nice aesthetic for the neighborhood. A great majority of homes also have lawns, with additional grass between the sidewalks and the street. These additional strips of grass are where most of the trees tend to be planted. In more commercial areas, there is very little in the way of landscaping, but most of these areas lie in between residential areas and thus can benefit from some of the landscaping found there.

Parks and Nature
There are many parks in West Hills, though most are of the same variety: a square block or so of grass with some trees and a playground, with, maybe, some basketball courts, baseball diamonds, etc.
West Hills is situated in a highly suburban area, with very little within its boundaries still being considered natural. However, it is located next to the more mountainous region of Agoura, and it is very close to a variety of hiking trails. West Hills is also a very short drive away from the ocean, when taking either Las Virgenes or Kanan.
